PLEASE FIND OUR REHOMING FORM ON THIS PAGE PLEASE FILL IT IN AND EMAIL BACK TO US,

When deciding to re-home a foxhound, we look at how much home work you have done on the breed, we have an questionnaire and information sheets which we can send out only on request due to costs of postage.

  • We request a letter from Your vet (if you have animals already)

  • We ask all the family including other dogs in the house hold come for a visit this is to try and ensure all the family and pets get on with the hound in question.

  • We go through the questionnaire with you in person.

  • We require a home visit, to help with the overall costs of everything, Travel and any stress upon the hound, it can be arranged to bring the hound with us, so that if the home visit is successful The hound doesn't have to wait any longer than it has already.

We do run our welfare on donations for the hounds, this helps to pay for the future hounds that may need our help. They are non refundable,

All foxhounds are neutered up to date with vaccinations, and are fitting with a micro-chip.

However we do not give this information out straight away, we normally send it once the hound has a settle in period, this is incase the hound does need to be returned.

Our New owners are required to sign a contract.

This contract states:

  • The New family understand the Foxhound history and ability to hunt.

  • And is apart of agreeing to re home a hound you as the new owner have agreed to take part in a training course, local to your home.

  • A letter will need to be required from your trainer once you have completed the course.

  • You have been made aware that on re homing a Foxhound, the hound will be as a pet and will not be chained up outside, used as a guard dog or with the intention to breed.

  •   All hounds will be neutered before going to their new homes unless it is a health issue stated by a vet not to go through with a General anaesthetic, or other wise agreed.

  •   Foxhound Welfare has the right to check on the hounds progress.

And reclaim the hound if we feel the hound is not being cared for to our satisfaction; lack in food veterinary care, companionship shelter and exercise.

Should the hound need to ever leave your care, Foxhound Welfare should be contacted first and where possible returned to Foxhound Welfare,

    (We can Not collect hounds)
