what we spend on average a month

So looking at what we spend on our hounds. will be hosting Facebook auction in 29th feb
And looking to host a table top sale in march
this is why when i'm not at work i am looking for ways to fund raise for our hounds in need,
and we arent a very big rescue but this changes depending on number of hounds we get called about,

...

Nelsons medication £28.40 per month

for all hounds flea and wormer we pay £79 per a month.

Foster homes get a sack of food every 5 weeks (or close enough) costs £77.40 for their food,

the Hounds i have with me as we cant afford emergency boarding go through a 15kg bag every 2 days plus the raw food they have,
costs £192 per month, that a 158kg worth of food gone every four weeks.
we also book weekly a field to help with recall training and allow the younger hounds to blow of stream = £112 per month.

this dose not include transport hound collection, house visits, pet passports for who ever needs them to travel to us, or any unseen costs that may happen if our hounds take ill, this is just the basic, cost,

as well as walking, training, feeding, cleaning out and just spending time with the unwanted hounds,
i also have to plan fundraising so if anyone has any ideas, or would like to run a event in our behalf please get in touch.
or drop me a email at

We believe that our rescue hounds are treated as part of our own packs, getting them used to home environment. We house train, lead train and socialise the dogs as much as possible.

All the rescues that the Foxhound Welfare deal with personally are booked in with our vet for check-up, vacations and a microchip. If nothing turns up in this consultation we book the hound in to be neutered.

We believe that neutering should be made compulsory with all rescues, as this alone would help reduce the number of unwanted animals and trace those that have been abandoned.

However, this does not come cheap. A breakdown of costs for a dog and a bitch are as follows-

DOGS

 Castration- £107.00

Micro-chip -£10

Full Course of Vaccines-£35.00

Flea and Wormer Course- £8.50

BITCHES

Spey -£138.00

Micro-chip-£8.00

Full Course of Vaccines -£35.00

Flea and Wormer Course -£8.50

These costs are for each female hound we have in our care. This does not include any other medical treatment that the new rescue may need when first coming into our care.

As you can see the Cash Donations we receive are put start to work, allowing us to continue our work.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE KIND PEOPLE THAT MAKE REGULAR DONATIONS, AS WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HELP AS MANY HOUNDS AS WE DO.

Many thanks to the Vets and Nurses at Ayres Veterinary Hospital, North Shields, for their care of the hounds,
